Sally Soter and Frances Fisher

Inspired by the Norton Museum’s Special Exhibition Avedon Fashion 1944-2000, this year’s Black & White Ball will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010, at the Museum. The exhibition will feature more than 200 works by Richard Avedon, spanning his entire career, and will include vintage prints, contact sheets, magazine layouts, and archival material from 1944-2000. Richard Avedon revolutionized fashion photography starting in the post-World War II era and redefined the role of the fashion photographer. The special exhibition will be on view at the Norton Museum February 9 through May 9, 2010. The evening will consist of a classic Hollywood cocktail lounge setting reception, an elegant seated dinner, and dancing to the upbeat music of jazz and smooth style musical arrangements, inspired by the music of the decades reflected in the Avedon exhibition.
