Bernard and Chris Marden Community Gallery

The Bernard and Chris Marden Community Gallery supports the mission of the Norton Museum of Art by  “…strengthening awareness of the arts in its region through encouraging participation, (and)  reaching out to improve the quality of life in all communities through appreciation of the visual arts.”

The Education Department mounts six student exhibitions in the Marden Gallery each year, featuring artwork by students at all grade levels, as well as the Museum’s summer interns.  On average, these exhibitions include work by two dozen students. As a result, more than 120 students have the exciting, self-esteem-and-confidence boosting experience of having their work shown in a major American museum in a very professional way—framed and accompanied by the students’ own informational labels.

Marden Community Gallery programming is made possible in part by The Samuel Rosenthal Endowment for Education and Outreach Programs
