Summer Internship Program

Now in its sixteenth year, the Norton Museum of Art announces its 2010 Summer Internship Program.  Three high school students, one undergraduate college student and one graduate student will be selected.  As interns, they will:

  • Work in departments throughout the Museum—including Curatorial, Education, Marketing & PR, Advancement, Finance, IT and Administration— based on their interests and backgrounds;  
  • Lead tours for summer campers through the special exhibition, Dinotopia: The Fantastical Art of James Gurney;
  • Participate in roundtable discussions with art professionals; and
  • Organize an exhibition of works from the Museum collection.

Students in all academic fields are encouraged to apply!

 

Terms & Eligibility
Internship Dates: June 22nd – August 6th, 2010

  • 3 High School students – students who will be Juniors or Seniors in fall 2010 and those graduating in spring 2010.
  • 1 Undergraduate college student – currently enrolled in college or graduating in spring 2010.
  • 1 Graduate college student – currently enrolled in graduate school or graduating in spring 2010. 

The undergraduate intern will receive a stipend funded by the Chastain Foundation.  The other internships are offered without stipend.

Deadlines
Applications must be postmarked by March 5th, 2010.
Interviews will take place March 15th-March 26th, 2010.
Final notifications will be postmarked by April 16th, 2010.
