Volunteer Program
Luncheon pre-season 2007 – Volunteers and Docents at Annual Fall LuncheonThe Norton Museum of Art offers diverse volunteer opportunities for students and adults such as in the museum store, at the greeter’s desk, on the mailing crew, with special events, during Education Department programs, or in the Museum library. All of these projects are integral to a smoothly run Museum. The Museum staff provides guidance for volunteers, monthly newsletters and informational up-dates, and festive social occasions each season.

To find out how you can share your talents as part of this group, please contact the Programs and Volunteer Coordinator, Malissa Reese at (561) 832-5196, ext. 1113 reesem@norton.org.

Docent Program
Members of the Norton Museum of Art Docent CorpsDocents are volunteers who are dedicated to learning about the Norton Museum collection and special exhibitions and who enjoy sharing their knowledge through lively and interesting guided tours for our visitors.  You do not need to have an art background to apply for the docent program—we will teach you!  The only requirements are enthusiasm, flexibility, and a willingness to learn!

Applications for the docent program are accepted every two years.  To learn more about the program or to find out when the next application period begins, contact the Assistant Curator of Education, Jessica Kennedy, at (561) 832-5196, ext. 1132, or kennedyj@norton.org.

Generous underwriters of this Program include the Linda Silpe Endowment for the Continuing Education of Docents and the Mahon Endowment for Docent Education.
