Chinese Bowl
Reproduced from the permanent collection, plates of this design are usually dated to the Kangxi reign (1662-1772), but the details of this example date this plate back to the first reign of the Qing dynasty (1644-1911). The design includes four magic horses that can fly over the oceans.
The background of the plate is a dark green sea, suggestive of crashing waves. Our reproduction measure 8¾" diameter in a presentation box. For decorative use only. Exclusive to the Norton Museum of Art.
