Iris Apfel Scarf
The Norton Museum of Art pays tribute to one of America’s quintessential style icons Iris Apfel with this 100% silk scarf, designed by the Artistic Director of the house of Bill Blass, Michael Vollbracht. This limited edition 36 by 36 inch scarf is available in two color palettes, both featuring a central image of an iris blossom, one with hot pink or taupe background. Known for her fearless style, Apfel is considered one of the most original personalities in the worlds of fashion, textiles and interior design. She and her husband Carl founded Old World Weavers, an international textile manufacturing company. Their exquisite workmanship and intricate designs attracted the sophisticated tastes of Greta Garbo, Marjorie Merriweather Post, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Estee Lauder and many others. The Apfel’s have since sold their company to Stark Carpet, but remain involved as consultants. Ms Apfel has also consulted on numerous restoration projects, including renovation and refurbishment of the White House.
