The Hunter Gifts

November 17, 2007 – September 7, 2008

This coming season, the Norton Museum of Art will present The Hunter Gifts, a series of photography exhibitions drawn from a very recent donation of 162 photographs by Mrs. Irene Hunter of Delray Beach, Florida and Manchester Village, Vermont. Including some of the most important photographers of the twentieth century, this gift adds many important names and images to the already significant photography holdings at the Norton Museum. To feature as many photographers as possible, and to continue the Norton's longstanding commitment to furthering the visitor's understanding of photographic history, this series will showcase the work of six international photographers paired together. It is through these comparisons of generations and cultures that photography's rich history will be not only illuminated but greatly expanded.
