Art After Dark / Celebrating Winter Solstice

5:30-6 PM / Exhibition Tour: Miss Lucy’s 3 Day Dollhouse Party
Miniature art by notable contemporary artists such as Cy Twombly fills the dollhouses of local resident “Miss Lucy” Andrews. Find out how Twombly and his friends came to create original art for these houses.  

6 PM / A Closer Look: David Teniers the Younger’s Interior of a Nobleman’s Gallery
This Old Masters painting from circa 1635 features miniature paintings within a painting. Learn the backstory of this fascinating, nearly 400-year-old masterpiece.  Led by Kate Losee, Education Assistant for School and Teacher Programs.  

6-8 PM / Cookie Decorating Workshop
All the edible materials and decorating instructions are provided to create the most appetizing design ever, after which you can consume your creation!  

6:30 PM / A tour of the exhibition Earth Works: Mapping the Anthropocene
These stunning, large-scale artworks are based on photos taken during NASA flights over Greenland to survey the effect of  melting glaciers on sea level rise.

7 PM / Concert: The Great American Klezmer Song Book
Klezmer Company Jazz Orchestra, led by Aaron Kula will perform Yiddish and Klezmer tunes from 1920-1960 including music by some of the most famous Jewish composers such as Ellstein, Rumshinsky, Tarras, Olshanesky, and Gershwin. 

7 PM / Film: Time to choose
Academy Award-Winning documentary filmmaker Charles Ferguson turns his lens to address worldwide climate change challenges and solutions in his new film Time to Choose. Featuring narration by award-winning actor Oscar Isaac, Time to Choose leaves audiences understanding not only what is wrong, but what can to be done to fix this global threat.
