Norton Ambassadors

Thank you for your interest in the Norton Ambassadors. The program has been postponed until late 2018. However, the Museum is still seeking enthusiastic volunteers!  If you wish to volunteer at the Museum, please contact Diego Gutierrez at gutierrezd@norton.org, or visit norton.org/volunteer.

Norton Ambassadors are curious, open-minded individuals who are looking for a meaningful volunteer experience. Ambassadors contribute to the Museum by helping staff with programs, discussing works of art with visitors, and responding to visitor needs, including assisting visitors in navigating the Museum’s amenities.

Candidate Qualifications and Training
Ambassadors must be full-time residents of South Florida. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. No previous art or art history experience is necessary. Those accepted must participate in an Ambassadors-in-Training program to introduce them to the culture of the Norton. Trainees will learn about the Museum’s mission, collection, programs, and approaches to visitor services. Trainees will also learn to give short talks on works of art in the collection.

Training Sessions and Volunteer Commitment
Training takes place Wednesday evenings, 5:30 – 7:30 PM, starting September 6, 2017. Once training is successfully completed, Ambassadors are expected to volunteer for (at least) three 2½ hour shifts per month on Thursday evenings during Art After Dark, or on weekends, for one year.
