The Norton and Jupiter’s long-term collaboration provides students with opportunities for creative development and contributes to their understanding of art and cultural heritage through art-making and other curriculum-enhancing opportunities.
AP Art History
The program provides direct exposure to works of art in the Norton Collection that are related to the AP Art History curriculum. Students attend Norton lectures, symposia, and gallery tours; and visit the Norton multiple times throughout the school year, focusing on the Museum collection and special exhibitions.
AICE (Advanced International Certificate of Education) Photography, AP Photography, and Freshman Digital Photography
Photography students gain exposure to diverse media and techniques, and engage with historical and contemporary photography from the Museum collection. Students participate in staff-guided tours and have opportunities to practice with their camera in the galleries. The partnership culminates when students make art inspired by their visits which are then exhibited in the Norton Museum’s Chris and Bernard Marden Community Gallery.
This program was made possible by the generosity of the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation Arts & Culture Fund of the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties.
