ArtSpeaks / Amy Arbus on Her Photography

Friday, January 27 / 6PM

"All they said to me was 'take a picture of anyone who makes you turn your head.’” —Amy Arbus, AnOther Magazine, April 2015

Photographer Amy Arbus’ most celebrated body of work for The Village Voice in the 1980s was published in the award-winning book, On the Street 1980-1990 in 2006. She joins us in conjunction with the current special exhibition, A Personal View on High Fashion & Street Style: Photographs from the Nicola Erni Collection, 1930s to Now. We invite you to meet Ms. Arbus as she discusses what makes her “Street Style Portraits” photographs so unique.

A Personal View on High Fashion & Street Style: Photographs from the Nicola Erni Collection, 1930s to Now is organized by the Nicola Erni Collection in collaboration with the Norton Museum of Art. This exhibition was made possible by the generosity of the Nicola Erni Collection and the Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation, with additional support provided by the Hartfield Foundation.
