Make art a family affair!  

Children ages 5-12, and their accompanying grown-ups, participate in a gallery experience, followed by a related art workshop.

Create your own stop-motion cartoon based on works from the Norton Collection! Learn the basic skills needed to turn hand drawn images into living motion and produce a short animation.

Themes for every month

April Family Studio / Print Like a Master

Learn unique printmaking techniques as you find inspiration from the greats. Enjoy a tour of the prints on view and then test out what you've learned in the studio.

May Family Studio / Myriad of Materials

Artists make art using a variety of materials. As you explored the museum, look at how artists make art out of clay, wood, and even glass.

June Family Studio / Mythical Creatures and Storytelling

Get inspired by the mythical characters and stories found within the Museum’s Chinese and European Collection and discover ways to incorporate those narratives into your art.

July Family Studio / Stop-Motion Animation

Create your own stop motion cartoon based on works from the Norton Collection!

August Family Studio / Creative Assemblage Sculpture

Explore the world of 3-D objects as you create sculptures using clay, cardboard, felt, and found objects.

How to Attend

Classes are live in-person and are limited to 5 families.

$3 Per Family

Once you register your family, you will receive a confirmation email.

Accessibility

The CDC’s COVID-19 Community Level for Palm Beach County is currently High. In response to this, the following general policies are in effect at the Norton: 

  • Masks are mandatory indoors throughout the Museum campus (ages 2+), regardless of negative tests or vaccination status, except while eating or drinking. Masks are provided upon request. 

  • Temperature taking is required upon entering the Museum. Visitors with a temperature of 100.4 F or above will not be admitted. 

  • Capacities will be limited for the Museum and in certain indoor event spaces. Guests are encouraged to reserve admission online in advance.

  • Guests are encouraged to practice social distancing, maintaining 6 feet of space from others. 

  • For the safety of all visitors and the Museum’s staff and volunteers, the Norton encourages visitors to get vaccinated and boosted in accordance with CDC guidance, though this is not required for admission.

The Museum will continue to conduct heightened cleaning and sanitation and will continue to provide mask to visitors who request them.

These policies are informed by guidance and recommendations issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other authoritative or controlling government-issued health standards
