Join the Norton virtually to explore how artists tell stories through their art!

Utilizing video interviews and other primary sources, we'll investigate a powerful work of art by Faith Ringgold titled Moroccan Holiday from the Norton's collection. Ringgold is well-known for her groundbreaking Story Quilts which often confront issues of politics and social justice. Educators can participate in a hands-on experience by creating their own Story Quilt with Norton teaching artist Jill Lavetsky, using materials found right in your home!

Educators will come away with practical tips on how to incorporate stories in art into their new blended learning environment, and receive supporting teaching materials after the workshop. They’ll also get a chance to learn about new Virtual School Tours and other virtual opportunities at the Norton!

This workshop is for K-12 educators from all subject areas. District of Palm Beach County teachers may receive in-service credit for this workshop by filling out an F2401 form on the ELM learning system.

This event is offered online via Zoom.
Educators will be sent a Zoom link prior to the event.
