The Palm Beach County School District includes five schools designated as International Spanish Academies by Spain’s Ministry of Education. These schools have an intensive dual–language program focused on the history, culture, and language of the Spanish speaking world.
Partnering with three International Spanish Academy schools in Palm Beach County (Berkshire Elementary School, Greenacres Elementary School, and New Horizons Elementary School) the Norton plays a central role in the curriculum’s cultural component with programs that encourage students to explore art while promoting their understanding and appreciation of cultural heritage. These include features such as lesson plans based on visual literacy and the Museum Collection, Storytelling in Art tours; and a student art exhibition and performances during a schoolwide ISA Family Day at the Museum, during which students and their families celebrate the year’s accomplishments.
This program was made possible by the generosity of the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation Arts & Culture Fund of the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties.
