Sixth Grade Community Experience
As part of the Palm Beach County School District’s initiative to connect students with their community, the Norton Museum of Art served as a featured destination in the Arts & Culture choice menu. Schools that selected the Norton as their top choice brought their entire sixth-grade class to the Museum for a guided tour centered on STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.
Each morning, the Museum welcomed up to 200 students, who were led through the galleries by trained guides. During these tours, students explored a wide range of artworks and discovered how they intersect with scientific, engineering, and mathematical concepts, creating a rich, interdisciplinary learning experience.
