Every last Friday of the month, Art After Dark gets louder and looser for its Pop Session! Women are front and center this Friday: Artist Mickalene Thomas is in conversation with Cheryl Brutvan, Director of Curatorial Affairs and the Glenn W. and Cornelia T. Bailey Curator of Contemporary Art at the Norton. Suzi Analogue performs electronic music that mixes video art and soul and hip-hop music. Express Tours highlight art by women in the collection.

Arts Leader Lecture
Mickalene Thomas is known for paintings and photographs that explore notions of black femininity, beauty, and aesthetic representation. The artist will be joined in conversation by Cheryl Brutvan, the Norton’s Director of Curatorial Affairs and Glenn W. and Cornelia T. Bailey Curator of Contemporary Art. Free tickets are available one hour before the presentation on a first-come, first-served basis.

Concert: Suzi Analogue
Suzi Analogue, a rarity within modern-day electronic music, mixes visually striking video projections with soul, hip-hop and vocals with synthesizers and electronic bass. Bring a blanket and enjoy the concert from the lawn in the Goergen Garden. Blankets are also available for purchase in The Shop at the Norton.
