Artist’s Talk / Princess Usanga: Miami-based filmmaker, writer and producer
Stiller Auditorium
Princess Usanga is a Miami-based Director and Screenwriter born in New York to Haitian and Nigerian parents. She studied Television and Film Production at St. John’s University, and her directorial debut was a short film titled “God’s Atheist.” She is currently in pre-production for her dramedy/coming-of-age 90’s short film “Hooky” that she wrote and will direct in April 2022. Usanga is also penning her first feature film, “Missed Connections.” Her intersectionality of being an African and Caribbean Black woman with an invisible disability has made Usanga even more passionate about sharing unique perspectives and highlighting the nuances of the human experience.

Concert: GAIYA
Natalie Rodriguez, also known as GAIYA, is a Miami born and raised Cuban creative who through her raw expression blurs the lines that separate living and feeling. Through visual, sonic, and movement elements she makes space to create a pause, a moment in time where we can simply feel.
