Nature Unseen: Innovative Representation by Palm Beach County Students

The Norton Museum of Art, in partnership with the Palm Beach County schools, welcomes you to Nature Unseen in the Chris and Bernard Marden Community Gallery. Artworks in this exhibition, created by young artists from middle and high schools across Palm Beach County, represent nature in innovative and exploratory ways.
Art teachers were invited to submit five works of art on behalf of their students, inspired by the Museum’s special exhibition Artists in Motion: Impressionist and Modern Masterpieces from the Pearlman Collection. Over 200 submissions were winnowed down to the final 50 currently on view. These students’ artworks showcase varied approaches to nature, stimulated by the innovations of Impressionist and Modern artists who rejected formerly established styles in sculpture and painting. Students utilized contemporary materials and methods to convey their thoughts on the theme "Nature Unseen."
The Norton Museum of Art is thankful to all school administrators and teachers from public, private, charter, and parochial schools for their support of arts education. The Museum is also grateful to all Palm Beach County students who devoted their time to exploring this year’s theme from their own creative perspectives.
School and Teacher Programs are made possible by the generosity of the William Randolph Hearst Endowment Fund for Education and Outreach Programs.
