Open Studio
Inspired by Joseph Stella: Visionary Nature, learn how to make your own nature collages using real plants and other found objects with guest teaching artist, Autumn Kioti.
About Autumn Kioti:
Autumn Kioti (they/them or she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist, performer, and Certified Florida Master Naturalist. Using inspirations from nature, animal documentaries and scientific studies, their own search for identity and community, and processes including botanical and traditional printmaking, collagraph, cyanotype, pen and ink, non-traditional watercolor techniques, found object art, they create two- and three-dimensional art and installation, as well as programming and performances. Past artist residencies include the NYC Audubon Society, Santa Fe Art Institute, Art Monastery Italia, NOoSphere Arts, The Mothership NYC, and more. Autumn currently travels throughout South Florida with "Wildness is Necessary," their art, nature, and justice program for all ages. It is their wildest hope that the narratives they create bring viewers and participants closer to an understanding that humans are of nature and not separate from it, planting our feet firmly on the Earth beside our non-human brethren (and maybe creating a little magic and silliness too).

Guías in the Galleries
The Guía Program is a dual-language school partnership with International Spanish Academy students from John I. Leonard High School. In a humanities class led by Norton staff divided between the classroom and the Museum, these thirteen teens also acquire skills to interact with all types of visitors at the Museum and how to start conversations about art in the galleries. Engage with the Guías in English and Spanish in the High Fashion & Street Style exhibition every Friday of the show’s run!
