  • Live Music / The Hoochie Digs

The Hoochie Digs started out in Louisiana in 2014, writing music at their old home there in the Bayou state.  Joey has played guitar for nearly 40 years with bands of all genres.  Cher began singing with Catholic School Choir, & has performed music with various groups, her favorite being currently with "The Digs".  When writing their original folk songs, Joey always strums out his melody, & Cher follows the feel with her lyrics.  Poetic & symbolic notes of hope, & parables of peace & love are at the forefront of the message & material that these two deliver. The duo has released a couple of albums, streaming on Spotify & YouTube, "My Baby Gone" & "Freedom".  They continue to write & record.  The Digs perform at venues in South Florida, their new home, as well as back in Louisiana, the state fondly featured in much of their music.  Cher is French speaking, & of Cajun heritage, flavoring their tunes with the sweet language.  The best way to describe The Hoochie Dig genre is folk, though the South seeps through to give their sound some country.  Whatever you call the vibe, Joey's guitar will draw you in.  The two got the name from Cher's French Grandma, who would say "hoochie dig" in place of a name she could not recall!  Listen to their folk country to hear true life stories that bring us all together.
