  • BUTOH WORKSHOP

Pınar Sinka’s butoh workshop brings together Tatsumi Hijikata’s choreographic methodology and Kazuo Ohno’s improvisation-based approach, giving participants the chance to experience butoh’s mysterious, unknown world of movement. In addition to practical exercises, the workshop includes a theoretical framework that introduces the philosophy, methodology, and aesthetic principles of butoh. The workshop aims to help participants develop a deeper awareness of their bodies and their relationship to space and the surrounding environment. Through butoh’s somatic and choreographic practices, participants are invited to slow down, perceive in new ways, move beyond habitual movement patterns, and discover their own unique movement language.
