Open Studio invites you to connect with artwork through creative expression!

Multimedia artist and art educator Shawna Moulton invites participants to self-reflect and create mixed-media self-portraits during this hour-long art workshop. This month’s workshop celebrates the opening of “Collage and Assemblage: Exploring the Creative Process,” a student exhibition pushing the boundaries to explore what collage and assemblage can mean.

• Sketchbook or paper or an object to collage on
• Paper to cut up and use in collage
• Scissors
• Glue
• Rhinestones (optional)
• Found objects (optional)
• Watercolor paint and brushes (optional)

About Open Studio

Experienced and emerging artists from South Florida open their studios for interactive workshops inspired by works of art on view at the Norton. Learn practical and expressive skills from guest teaching artists at a fun, collaborative virtual experience. Each session features a new work of art, a new guest teaching artist, and a different discipline: from visual arts to creative writing, music, and dance. This is an open platform where participants are encouraged to ask questions and share their work!

About the Artist

Shawna Moulton is a multimedia artist and art educator who lives and works is South Florida. Her art practice explores notions of transformation, spirituality, the human body, motherhood, and the African diaspora.
