Museum School Partnerships

The Norton Museum of Art collaborates with Palm Beach County schools to develop programs based on the Norton’s collection and special exhibitions that support curriculum and learning objectives. These partnerships, many of which are long-term, incorporate each school’s entire community, including students, their families, teachers, and administrators.

The School and Teacher Programs department works closely with participating schools to design customized programs. Museum staff host arts-integrated curriculum writing sessions for teachers. Through these lessons and subsequent tours, students gain a unique opportunity to foster critical thinking skills and make personal connections with artworks through careful observation and dialogue.

Kindergarten, elementary and high school students participate in artist-led presentations, curator talks, in-school sessions, museum careers presentations, docent-led gallery tours, art-making sessions, students’ exhibitions and family programs.
