South Florida-based artists lead informal, 30-minute gallery talks about works in the Norton’s collection and special exhibitions.

Art After Dark / Beth Lipman and "The Price of Everything"

Friday, July 22 / 5PM-10PM

Artist Beth Lipman, whose commissioned work One and Others is a centerpiece of the current Years of Glass exhibition, discusses her development as an artist and her unique approach to creating glass sculptures. Following Lipman’s talk, the final film in our series on Collectors and Collecting, The Price of Everything, and a concert of jazz, blues and R&B by vocalist Libra Sene and her band.

    About the Artist:
    Caitlin Frown is a contemporary mixed media artist living and creating in West Palm Beach. She studied illustration and fine arts at Lesley University College of Art and Design in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She strives to incorporate craft with fine art through vibrant colors and repurposed materials focusing on miniatures and the more mundane aspects of life.

  • Join a Tour!

    Docents discuss great works by Pablo Picasso, as well as the fabulous contemporary art of glass.

    Limited to 14 people per docent.

    Pick up your wristband at the Reception Desk one hour before the tour.

  • Artist Talk / Beth Lipman on her Art

    Artist Beth Lipman is a celebrated glass artist. Her commissioned work One and Others is a centerpiece of the Norton Museum’s current special exhibition, Years of Glass. In this presentation, the artist discusses the development of her art and her unique approach to glass sculpture.

    Space is limited, and tickets are available at the Reception Desk starting one hour before program.

  • Film on Art Collecting / "The Price of Everything"

    The final film in the Museum’s series on Collectors and Collecting, The Price of Everything (2018), explores the contemporary, consumer-driven art world. This celebrated documentary directed by Nathaniel Kahn, features collectors, dealers, and an array of artists, whose conversations expose the complexity and contradictions of the art market.

  • Live Music / Libra Sene

    Libra Sene is a native New Yorker who became one of the City’s most acclaimed jazz and neo-soul vocalists. She has sung at Birdland, The Blue Note, and B.B. King’s and she performed regularly at Ashford and Simpson’s Sugar Bar. Today Libra Sene lives in West Palm Beach and she will share her interpretations of standards and her own unique repertoire in this concert.

Attending Art After Dark

Hours: The museum is currently open to the public until 10 pm on Friday nights.

Entry: Admission during Art After Dark is $10 for Adults & Seniors, $5 for Students. Tickets may be purchased at the Reception Desk or reserved in advance

Parking: Parking is available in the Norton’s main parking lot at 1501 South Dixie Highway, immediately across the street from the Museum. Parking is $5 per car, per day. Norton Members park for free.

Food and drink: The Restaurant at the Norton offers indoor and outdoor seating with beautiful views of our Sculpture Garden. Along with great food, The Restaurant serves creative cocktails, wine, and champagne. Reservations available through Tock.
