Performances by the Miami City Ballet
Heyman Plaza
Miami City Ballet dancer and choreographer Alaina Andersen will premiere Fire as part of the Norton Museum’s exhibit: For the Record: Celebrating Art by Women during the museum’s Art After Dark program on Friday, September 24. This performance marks the company’s first Palm Beach engagement since its critically acclaimed Firebird program at the Kravis Center in February 2020. Fire is a casual, sneaker ballet pas de deux featuring MCB dancers Adrienne Carter and Nicole Stalker. Set to the music of Waxahatchee, Fire is a queer oriented duet that portrays a range of emotions involving womanhood and all the joys and sorrows that come with it.
Earlier this year, Alaina debuted Tang to critical and audience acclaim. You can view that performance here.
Art After Dark is made possible by the generosity of The Addison Hines Charitable Trust.
Support for the Docent Program was provided by The Donald and Linda Silpe Endowment for the Professional Development of Docents and The Marcia Mahon Education Endowment Fund.
